Our vision for Mount Sugarloaf is to create positive and enduring social and economic legacies. We recognise that large-scale projects like CQP will result in changes to the local landscape and will be part of the surrounds for the next 30 plus years. As a result, we will work passionately to ensure that the community consider the changes worthwhile.

We will partner with the community to build resilience against climate fluctuations, job transitions and social change. We believe that CQP will drive and deliver local innovation, local manufacturing and create a net positive impact for nearby landowners, individuals and businesses.

Local Community

CQP is committed to supporting the communities that host our renewable energy projects. The Mount Sugarloaf Wind Farm will commit to establishing a community fund once the project is operational. The fund will provide ongoing funding to support local community groups over the life of the project. Input will be sought from the community to inform and shape how the fund could be implemented. We will establish a ‘Community Consultative Committee’ (CCC) for our renewable energy projects. A CCC is established prior to construction and comprises community representatives who volunteer to engage regularly with the project team. The role of this committee is to facilitate structured and productive communication between CQP and the community about the project, encourage community consultation participation in decision making processes and address any concerns the community may have regarding its processes. Community Events

CQP Community Engagement Advisors regularly hold events/expositions in the local community of the Mount Sugarloaf Wind Farm. By attending these community events, it is a good opportunity to ask any questions that you may have regarding the Mount Sugarloaf Wind Farm, and to find out more about the Project in greater detail. Community Consultative Committee

CQP proposes to establish a Community Consultative Committee (CCC) to encourage open communication and information sharing with project stakeholders during the development, construction and early operations of the Mount Sugarloaf Wind Farm, Moah Creek Wind Farm and Moah Creek Solar Farm (the Projects).

The role of the CCC will be able to facilitate structured and productive communication between CQP and the community about the Projects during late-stage development, planning, construction and early operational phases. The CCC will include between 6 and 20 members of the local community, 1 representative of local council, up to 2 representatives of the Project Team and an independently appointed Chairperson.

The Project will be seeking expressions of interest from community members to participate in a CCC. Once governance arrangements are finalised for the committee, community members will be invited to confirm their interest and advised of next steps in the process for the forming of the CCC.
